INNER PEACE
a stream of consciousness
Since 2016, I have made finding inner peace my top goal. However inner peace based on shielding ourselves from harm is not true peace. If our peace can be disturbed by outside forces, it is not true peace as peace is like a magnet which repels anything which is not of it.
There have been many ways feelings of inner peace has been harder to achieve than ever before.
Busy schedules, toxic radiation, nutritional imbalances leading to mental and physical disturbances, difficulty breathing, poor posture due to our modern technological sedentary lifestyles, and most importantly - a culture that rewards living in the future or past, instead of the present.
As I have said before, only in the Here and Now can we Hear and Know. Trauma makes us brace ourselves for pain but ironically it is only when we are fully present do we have our greatest protective faculties.
That being said, many of us who have experienced trauma like to prepare for any kind of challenge and while this does pull us out of inner peace, it also is logical in a society that has not protected us.
This is why we must never shame ourselves if we do not have βinner peaceβ.
I also think that everything that happens around us does affect us - and people who shield themselves from pain while ignoring it can end up spiritually bypassing the very real fact that we need to change this planet.
I believe our goal is inner AND outer peace; but this can only happen when we address all the underlying issues getting in the way of inner/outer peace.
The main issue to me is DISCONNECTION.
If we knew we were safe no matter what, would we worry?
If we knew we could overcome any obstacle, would we worry?
If we knew that death is not the end, would we worry?
